GTA 6 Missing From PlayStation Store in Several Countries: Here’s What We Know

GTA 6 has been removed from several regional PlayStation Store storefronts, as reported by many players.

The game is reportedly missing from the PlayStation Stores in Bahrain, China, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Russia, and Taiwan. While Rockstar Games and Sony have yet to provide an official explanation, the absence has already spread speculation across gaming communities about possible regional restrictions or PSN store decisions.

In some regions, particularly parts of the Middle East and China, games often undergo additional review processes before receiving approval for digital release. GTA is one of the industry’s most controversial franchises due to its mature themes, including violence, criminal activity, and adult content.

Previous versions of the series have faced restrictions and delays in certain markets due to moral and legal regulations in the mentioned regions. Despite being banned in most conservative Middle Eastern countries, Rockstar managed to release its game on Saudi Arabia and UAE’s stores, with a minimum age requirement of 21-years-old.

Russia presents a different situation. Since 2022, PlayStation’s activits in the country have been extremely restricted, with the PlayStation Store suspending a lot of services and payment options for Russian users.

At this point, GTA 6’s absence from from the PlayStation Store does not necessarily mean the game is permanently banned.

Digital storefront listings can appear at different times depending on regional approval procedures, licensing requirements, and platform-specific decisions. However, until Rockstar Games or Sony provide clarification, players in the affected regions remain uncertain about whether they will gain access through official digital channels.
